Mental Health and Wellbeing

Do you know that there is a National Study of Mental Health and Wellbeing?

Holistic psychotherapy is an integrative approach that focuses on the relationship between mind, body, and spirit.

From ABS “Mental health is a key component of overall health and well-being. A mental disorder is characterised by a ‘clinically significant disturbance in an individual’s cognition, emotional regulation, or behaviour’. The term itself covers a range of disorders including Anxiety, Affective and Substance Use disorders.

A person may be negatively affected by symptoms of mental health concerns without necessarily meeting the criteria for a mental disorder. Mental health affects and is affected by multiple socioeconomic factors, including a person’s access to services, living conditions and employment status, and impacts not only the individual but also their families and carers.

The ABS recognises people who have a lived experience of mental health concerns and that having – or not having – mental health concerns does not define a person. We acknowledge that people are living productive, purposeful and meaningful lives with mental health concerns. We acknowledge their unique experiences, and those of carers, families and supporters of people living with mental health concerns.”

COPE centre totally agrees and supports their statement.
Our holistic approach acknowledges developmental and relational issues. Our comprehensive approach to mental health and well-being considers all aspects of a person’s life and experiences. We are hoping not to only address symptoms of mental health issues but also the individual’s physical, emotional, social, and spiritual wellbeing.

Holistic psychotherapy is an integrative approach that focuses on the relationship between mind, body, and spirit, attempting to understand and address the ways issues in one aspect of a person can lead to concerns in other areas.

We genuinely believe that physical health, emotional well-being, social support, spiritual and existential needs, lifestyle factors, cultural sensitivity, early interventions, preventive and promotive measures, collaborative care and patient-centred care are central for adjustment and functioning in everyday life.
