Conditions we work with
At COPE, we provide counselling and psychology services for adults, adolescents, children, couples, and families. Our clinicians support people experiencing a wide range of mental health concerns, emotional difficulties, relationship challenges, and life transitions.
Rather than focusing solely on symptoms, we seek to understand the underlying experiences, relationships, and patterns that contribute to distress. Our clinicians draw upon evidence-based approaches including psychodynamic psychotherapy, attachment-informed therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Schema Therapy, and trauma-focused interventions, tailoring treatment to the individual.Â
All COPE clinicians work from a trauma-informed framework, creating a safe, respectful, and collaborative environment where individuals can explore challenges, develop insight, and work towards meaningful change.

Our Approach
At COPE, we believe meaningful change begins with understanding the whole person — not just the symptoms they are experiencing.
Understanding Beneath the Surface
We explore the emotional, relational, and life experiences that may be contributing to distress.
Trauma-Informed Care
We prioritise safety, trust, choice, collaboration, and respect for each person’s unique experiences.
Psychodynamic & Relational Therapy
We help people understand patterns in relationships, emotions, self-worth, and behaviour.
Evidence-Informed Support
Our clinicians draw from approaches such as psychodynamic therapy, CBT, ACT, Schema Therapy, and attachment-informed practice.
Collaborative & Person-Centred
Therapy is guided by your goals, needs, pace, and readiness for change.
Lasting Change
We aim to support deeper self-understanding, emotional resilience, healthier relationships, and meaningful growth.
We do not see people as problems to be fixed. We work alongside people to understand their story, strengthen their sense of self, and support positive change.

Looking for support beyond traditional talk therapy?
At COPE, we recognise that no two people are the same. Alongside psychology and counselling, we offer creative, recovery-focused, and NDIS supports designed to meet people where they are and help them move towards a meaningful life.
Referral Pathways
There are several ways to access counselling and psychology services at COPE. Whether you are referred by a GP, using NDIS funding, accessing private health, or seeking support after a workplace or motor vehicle accident, our team can help guide you through the process.
GP Referrals
You do not need a GP referral to see one of our psychologists. However, if you would like to claim Medicare rebates, you will need a Mental Health Care Plan and referral from your GP.
Private Referrals
You can book privately with one of our psychologists or counsellors without a referral. If you have private health insurance, you may be eligible to claim rebates depending on your level of cover.
NDIS
COPE provides psychology, counselling, and psychosocial supports for NDIS participants. Please bring your NDIS plan and plan manager details to your first appointment.
WorkCover
We provide support for workers experiencing psychological distress, workplace stress, injury, or rehabilitation needs. Therapy can commence once we receive your WorkCover medical certificate signed by your GP.
Motor Vehicle Accidents
We support people experiencing anxiety, trauma, pain, or adjustment difficulties following a motor vehicle accident. If you have an approved insurance claim, we may be able to bill your insurer directly.
